This apartment had great potential to become a stylish space. The Majo Flores Interior Design studio and stylist Sol van Dorssen have given it a radical transformation. Let’s see it!

This 280 m² single-floor apartment in a “U” shape had everything to become an authentic showpiece: large spaces and many windows that allowed natural light throughout the day. However, it had become very outdated and a way had to be found to maximize its potential. To this end, the owners turned to the Majo Flores Interior Design Studio team, which took charge of the renovation and, together with El Mueble stylist Sol Van Dorssen, achieved a dream result. Shall we see it?

Before: an empty living room with many possibilities

The occupants of this residence, a family consisting of a couple and their 8-year-old daughter, wanted to make their home a contemporary, comfortable, welcoming, and bright house. Additionally, they needed a new layout, as the original did not correspond to their needs.

In the case of the living room, the passage doors in a dull brown, as well as the wall color or the dark-toned parquet flooring, only made the space feel smaller. That room could house a large, stylish living-dining area. What did the team in charge of the renovation do?

After: a very stylish living-dining room

What a transformation! The team in charge of the renovation installed natural oak wood flooring with wide planks throughout the house, bringing brightness to the room. The light-toned furniture helps create a relaxed and stylish space. The wall color in various tones, whites and neutrals, helps define the areas of the living-dining room while maintaining a sense of continuity between both spaces.

After: a light-filled living room in light tones

The living room decoration is warm and very welcoming. The light-toned curtain fabrics allow natural light to pass through and contrast perfectly with the rest of the furnishings. The twin black-toned coffee tables give this room a modern and timeless air.

After: a spacious, ultra-modern dining room

Next to the living room we find this area reserved for the dining room, which looks very distinguished yet with a modern touch. The large oval table takes center stage in this room and has capacity for up to 6 people. The light-toned chairs contrast perfectly with the dark table and give the space an elegant air.

Before: an outdated and graceless kitchen

This is how the kitchen looked before passing through the hands of the team in charge of the renovation. While the kitchen had sufficient space to create a contemporary and stylish space, the decoration it had before did not do it justice at all. It needed a restyling and a way had to be found to maximize its potential…

After: an open kitchen with a super island

After the renovation by the Majo Flores Interior Design Studio team, a very functional open kitchen to the living room was created. In this regard, the kitchen was defined using different flooring, a ceramic with a hydraulic appearance. The result is magazine-worthy!

Before: a kitchen that had become obsolete

The furniture that was previously in the kitchen had become completely obsolete and needed an urgent makeover. It had many possibilities and great storage capacity that could be better utilized than what we see in this image… How could this be resolved?

After: a sophisticated kitchen with personality

What a transformation! The kitchen with island that functions as a practical breakfast bar, as well as an ideal storage space thanks to the shelves found under the countertop, gives the room a modern touch full of personality.

The glass enclosure allows natural light into this space, which looks very bright and well connected to the rest of the rooms.

Before: an empty and graceless bedroom

The master bedroom looked narrow and gloomy. The flooring had become outdated and the dark brown doors did not give it any contemporary feel.

After: a master bedroom full of warmth and harmony

In the master bedroom, the wall that frames the bed headboard takes center stage and, after the renovation by Majo Flores Interior Design Studio, has been covered with wallpaper with floral motifs. The use of indoor plants gives the room a fresh air, and the warm-toned textiles bring warmth and harmony.

Before: a lifeless bedroom with imperfections

This empty bedroom had some imperfections that were crying out for a renovation. Some areas of the wall were completely peeling and needed urgent renovation.

After: a charming children’s bedroom

In this children’s bedroom, there is a sense of sweetness and warmth with the light tones and pastel pink of the wall and the various decorative elements. The custom-designed furniture in white tones with touches of natural oak helps create the welcoming atmosphere this room needs.

Before: an empty and gloomy guest bedroom

The guest bedroom needed a complete restyling from the floor to the wall tones. It had sufficient space to create a comfortable room for guests full of style.

After: a guest bedroom with two twin beds

What a transformation! The guest bedroom features two twin beds with original headboards upholstered in green-toned fabric that give the room a stylish touch. This, combined with the wallpaper with floral motifs, creates a distinguished and harmonious space.

Before: an empty room with options

This room felt small and underutilized, but it had many options to place a small dressing room or a very practical office area there. What do you think the team in charge of the renovation did?

After: a sophisticated and stylish office

Ta-da! After the renovation by Majo Flores Interior Design Studio, a sophisticated and stylish work area has been created. We see that in this room oak has also been chosen, which is present throughout the house, but in this case has been stained black to give the space a sophisticated and stylish touch.

Before: a bathroom that needed a renovation

In this bathroom, the original bathtub took up a lot of space and, although it was not too outdated, some of its elements were already asking for a change. The most notable was the austere and imposing countertop that had become somewhat outdated. What could be done to improve it?

After: a modern bathroom with its own light

This is something else! For the bathroom, ceramics with textile and stone effects were chosen that manage to give the space a modern touch. The large mirror above the floating sink helps give dynamism and depth to this room, which becomes the perfect place for spa and relaxation.

Before: an outdated little laundry room

This is what the little laundry room looked like before passing through the hands of Majo Flores Interior Design Studio.

This space designated for the laundry area had become completely outdated, both due to the large custom-made piece of furniture that took center stage in this space and the curtains with floral motifs outside the style parameters. This room needed a makeover to be practical and have personality…

The little laundry room is very practical and has all kinds of details. The wall has been covered with wallpaper with floral motifs and contrasts perfectly with the white furniture and handleless cabinets. The stone-type porcelain flooring on both the countertop and the sink wall helps give the space a touch of freshness and naturalness.

This is what the floor plan of this apartment looked like before the renovation by Majo Flores Interior Design. The living-dining area was separated from the kitchen, which made the layout non-functional and the rooms not fully integrated with each other. There was a long, dark hallway that was underutilized and did not respond to the needs of the apartment’s occupants.

The challenge was to achieve brighter rooms that were more integrated with each other. How did the layout turn out? We show you in the following image…

This is how the floor plan looked after the renovation by Majo Flores Interior Design. The spaces and the occupants’ wishes were analyzed to create a new layout of the house that would include: entrance hall, living-dining room, kitchen open to the living room, laundry room, office, gym, daughter’s bedroom, guest bedroom, and master bedroom, plus three bathrooms (one for each family member) and a courtesy powder room. It has everything!
