In interior design, there are trends that fade and others that are here to stay. Some endure over time. Others, however, have an expiration date.
In my opinion, there are two trends that have been with us for the past few years, but which will abandon us in 2024, if not definitively, then significantly.
One of these disappearing trends is the use of ceramic tiles that imitate terrazzo. There was a resurgence of this speckled material, even in bold colors, but it has gradually given way to other more natural finishes and textures.

Thus, in 2024, stone and marbled finishes will continue to be prominent, both real and the material that imitates it. And, of course, wood, especially natural oak.
Another trend that will lose ground is kitchens with an all-white total look. On the one hand, white softens and transforms into warmer tones, such as pearl. And, on the other hand, different finishes are mixed to create contrast, such as white-green, white-blue, or white-oak combinations.
Trends change, but a good interior design project always seeks balance, materials that age well, and spaces designed to last.
