This is a penthouse apartment in Madrid<\/strong>, located in a residential building<\/strong>, with a total area of 125 m\u00b2<\/strong>. The penthouse<\/strong>, recently purchased by our clients\u2014a couple with an 8-year-old daughter<\/strong>\u2014did not meet their needs or lifestyle<\/strong>, so they commissioned us for a comprehensive interior design and renovation project<\/strong> to transform it into their new family home<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Throughout the home, we selected continuous oak wood flooring<\/strong>, which brings warmth and visual cohesion<\/strong>, except in the kitchen<\/strong>, where we decided to retain the existing porcelain tile floor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The day area<\/strong>, which integrates the entry hall, living room, dining room, and kitchen<\/strong>, was conceived as a open, fluid space<\/strong>, designed to encourage family life and everyday communication<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The kitchen with a central island<\/strong> combines white and oak cabinetry<\/strong>, brass taps<\/strong>, and a generous island with stools and pendant lights<\/strong>, making it the social hub of the home<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Although the family wanted a visual connection between the kitchen and living room<\/strong>, they also needed the option to close off the space when necessary<\/strong>. For this reason, we designed a glass partition with a sliding door<\/strong>, which acts as a divider between the kitchen and the living-dining area<\/strong>, while maintaining aesthetic continuity whether open or closed<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

The curved design of the glass partition<\/strong> extends into the entry hall<\/strong>, where we designed a curved console and a bespoke wardrobe<\/strong>, creating an elegant transition between spaces<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

In the living room<\/strong>, we designed a bespoke TV unit with shelving<\/strong>, with simple, understated lines. We also incorporated a console behind the sofa<\/strong>, which serves as a divider between the living and dining areas<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

The dining room<\/strong> is arranged around a natural oak table<\/strong>, paired with pendant lights designed by the studio<\/strong>, creating a welcoming social space for family gatherings<\/strong>. The colour palette<\/strong> of these rooms combines neutral tones with ochre and blue accents<\/strong>, bringing balance and personality<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Next to the entry hall is the guest cloakroom<\/strong>, where we clad the walls with wainscoting-style ceramic tiles<\/strong> combined with botanical-pattern wallpaper<\/strong>. We designed a bespoke oak vanity unit<\/strong>, paired with a natural stone basin and black taps<\/strong>, creating a small space with great character<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

The child\u2019s bedroom<\/strong> includes a sleeping area, storage, and a study zone<\/strong>. We made use of the trundle bed with drawers and the existing desk<\/strong>, complementing them with bespoke shelving<\/strong>, a wall light<\/strong>, and cheerful wallpaper<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

The guest bedroom<\/strong> stands out for its textile-effect wallpaper<\/strong>, which adds warmth and texture<\/strong> to the space. The ochre and dusty pink colour palette<\/strong> is complemented by black wall lights<\/strong>, which add contrast and character<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

In the main bedroom<\/strong>, neutral tones<\/strong> predominate, while deep blue textiles<\/strong> provide the touch of colour<\/strong>. The subtly designed wallpaper<\/strong> enhances the serene atmosphere of the space<\/strong>. The upholstered headboard<\/strong> is paired with generous oak bedside tables with ample storage<\/strong>, and above them we placed pendant lights<\/strong> that bring warmth and visual balance<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

This bedroom also features a separate rectangular walk-in wardrobe<\/strong>, which allows storage to be organised efficiently<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The main bathroom<\/strong> was designed with a neutral, light-filled base<\/strong>. It includes a bespoke lacquered vanity unit<\/strong>, a decorated porcelain bowl basin<\/strong>, a large-format mirror<\/strong>, and wall-mounted brass taps<\/strong>. The basin lighting<\/strong> is resolved with decorative wall lights<\/strong>, which add character to the overall design<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n
